    Girl Receives Triple-Organ Transplant

    December 21, 2007

    By: Erin Moore for Body1

A six-year-old girl from Omaha is stable today after a remarkable triple-organ transplant Monday. Abigail Taylor was admitted to the University of Nebraska Medical Center following a pool accident where she was pulled down by the drain and disemboweled. The girl was given a new small bowel, liver, and pancreas.

Taylor’s father appeared at a news conference in Minneapolis Thursday, and said he is grateful that new legislation is being passed as a result of the incident. "This is a tremendous gift at Christmas," he said.

The President signed this new pool safety law Wednesday.
