    Kanye West Loses Mom

    November 12, 2007

    By: Erin Moore for Body1

Hip-hop artist Kanye West’s beloved mother died Saturday night in Los Angeles, following complications from cosmetic surgery. She was 58. Donda West reportedly quit her job as head of English at Chicago State University three years ago to become her son’s manager. She raised Kanye alone after his father left them when the star was three years old. Kanye frequently brought her to awards shows and events as his date and the two were said to be very close. West’s 2005 song "Hey Mama," on his album "Late Registration" was inspired by Donda.

Cosmetic surgery is generally considered safe, but there are always risks. Be sure to research any procedures, plastic surgeons, and hospitals before making the decision to proceed.
