Twenty-nine-year-old news anchor Charmaine Dragun jumped to her death Friday in Sydney’s “The Gap,” a notorious suicide location in the city’s eastern suburbs. Described as “beautiful and bubbly,” Dragun was also considered intelligent and talented by her viewers and colleagues. She was someone who appeared to have it all: a long-term relationship, a loving family, career success, and her whole life ahead of her.
Suicide is a heartbreaking consequence of clinical depression, which is a common and treatable condition. If you or a loved one has had changes in eating and sleeping patterns and have felt sad and hopeless, call a doctor. Remember, you are not alone.
