    The Red Sox took the championship title in baseball last night as they won the World Series. Pitcher Jon Lester won a personal battle as well. Diagnosed with anaplastic large cell lymphoma in August 2006, the 23-year-old spent this past winter undergoing chemotherapy and enduring its trying side effects at home in Tacoma, Washington. Returning July 23 in Cleveland, he pitched and won 6-2 after a winter away from training and a series of minor league and rehab stops. Last night Lester amazed Red Sox Nation and the world by pitching five shutout innings, helping Boston take the championship title from Colorado, 4-3.
