Probiotics for babies has been introduced as a way to support growth and development in young children. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), it remains unclear whether probiotics make a worthwhile contribution to child and lifelong development, but many people are convinced of their power.
Microorganisms that help re-establish healthy equilibrium in the stomach, probiotics are often prescribed following a course of antibiotics or gut-related illness. They can counteract the detrimental effects of stress, alcohol, medications, disease, or exposures in the intestinal environment.
