Innovative Ways to Hydrate the Body

    October 05, 2007

    By: Erin Moore for Body1

The company HealthSport has come out with the Enlyten™ SportStrip™, a proprietary edible strip product that provides hydration in a quick and easy way. Professional sports teams such as the Dallas Cowboys and Buffalo Bills and college teams such as Purdue have been using Enlyten; trainers and athletes say it is an effective alternative to traditional hydration methods. The strip is absorbed by the inner cheek, thereby delivering electrolytes to the bloodstream directly and avoiding the digestion issues that can come with gastric absorption.

Enlyten may open a door to newer and more efficient ways to provide hydration and nutrients to athletes and non-athletes alike, without concerns about sugar or fluid consumption. Remember, hydration before, during, and after physical activity is essential for a healthy body.
