By: Erin Moore for Body1Actress Jenny McCarthy has recently gone public with the experience of her son being diagnosed with autism. Now five, her son Evan visited a highly regarded pediatric neurologist following a bout of life-threatening seizures when he was two, and McCarthy was given the news every mother dreads. She says that after much research and support from UCLA and their physicians, Evan has “recovered” and can communicate completely. McCarthy believes this occurred from a combination of diet and behavioral and environmental modifications.

McCarthy’s new book is called “Louder Than Words: A Mother's Journey in Healing Autism" (Dutton).
