Body1 Sites Win Two eHealthcare Leadership Awards
Cambridge, MA - October 30 - The winners of the 2001 eHealthcare Leadership Awards were recognized on October 29 during the Sixth Annual Healthcare and Technology Conference. Two sites in the Body1 network received honors at the event. Medtech1.com, an LLC launched in conjunction with the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) in October 2000, won a gold award in the category of "Best Overall Internet Site". In addition, Knee1.com, Body1's largest site, was honored with a distinction award for Best Site Design among consumer disease-focused web sites.
Winners of the 2001 awards were selected from over 700 entries from online health companies, hospitals, health systems and pharmaceutical firms. Awards were given in six categories, which included best site design, best interactive site, best e-business site and best overall Internet site.
Chairman of the eHealthcare Leadership Awards, Mark Gothberg, commented on the large number of entries and quality of winning sites. "Clearly the dot-com bust has not held healthcare organizations back from continuing to develop their Websites. Entries this year reflected greater sophistication overall and more e-business and disease management in particular. Healthcare content has also seen significant improvement." Over 50 judges evaluated the sites reviewing them based upon a stringent standard of internet excellence.
