2 months post bankhart arthoscopic, 4 titanium anchors, and I'm doing GREAT. Fixed dislocating shoulder injured while kayaking. Here's my advice for those considering having this surgery. Go to 'the shoulder doctor' in your area, someone known for their prowess in shoulder work. Ask people who have had this done and are happy with their progress who their surgeon is. Go to a young doctor who is proficient with the scope. Be aggressive in PT. Use a polar care pak 24/7 the first week of recovery. Arrange to have a place to stay with someone to help you for the first week of recovery. My surgeon is Dr. Adkison at St. Vincents in Birmingham Alabama and I think he is an artist. I have not had much discomfort and my range of motion is almost 100% back. www.dangerjudy.com

Judy - congrats on your successful bankhart repair!!! I had mine done on 2/17/04. I believe it was successful, as the shoulder feels very stable. My ROM is not quite where I'd like it to be, but I'm sticking with PT and trying to remain patient. I never stopped working out - lots of legs and left side lifting!! I'm now using Therabands quite regularly on my right (repaired/dominant) side! I'm also back on my bike! I am an avid cyclist and was so fearful of not being able to ride again. Thanks for posting good news - we don't seem to hear enough of it!! PS - I agree with all your advice! Kim
