2 months ago i fell off a loading dock and my knee hit a piece of metal that was sticking out. I am experiencing pain on the top of the knee cap and below the knee cap from what pictures i have seen the areas of pain to touch and to constant movement or sitting still are in the center of the patella and also what seems to be the patellar tendon. thereis swelling along the bottom of the patella which was not there before the accident. from what the doctors have said is that xrays that were taken did not show anything and the systems dont sound like a meniscus tear so there is no need for a scope to be done. he is however having a bone scan requested which will take a month or two and a mri which can take three months to a year to get done. Also i recieve pain in the top region of my knee when prolong walking. Pain in the lower part of the knee and the top is reduced as my knee pops or crack as a knuckle would, only for a second or two then the pain will increase again until popped. I was wondering if there was any test that could be done before hand to know how damaged a patellar tendon is or even the patella. It seems that the doctor who is located in a fracture clinic is not being of much help to diagnos the problem. he has told me over different occations there may be 3 different things that have happened, a fracture on the knee cap, musle tear, or even cartlidge damage. But none of these are concreate. would you be able to give me assurance of what the probelm might be and how to go about and fixing the problem. would therapy help the problem if each session causes pain?
