hCG
Description
The “normal” level of hCG varies greatly from person to person. A more accurate measurement is how fast levels are increasing. Levels should double every 2-3 days until about 10-12 weeks into the pregnancy. Falling or stagnating hCG levels may indicate miscarriage. During an ectopic pregnancy, hCG levels will increase initially and then stop. hCG tests can also predict the age of the fetus.
