Bronchoscopy
Description
During bronchoscopy, the doctor can see into the patient’s lungs via a long tube called a bronchoscope (a long, fiber-optic tube) that is inserted through the patient’s nose or mouth. If a sample is required, the doctor can remove tissue with a bronchial brush via the bronchoscope or with forceps.
