Your fantasy football team may soon be missing a coach during the work day. Microsoft has filed a patent for a device that could measure vital readings of employees for their employers. The readings would include brain scans, EMGs, blood pressure, and facial movements. Microsoft says that the would-be device is designed to measure stress levels of a given employee. If the employee was experiencing stress, the device would seek either a person within the organization that could help the stressed employee. Some fear that the stress scans are intrusive, and could lead to employers using the device or something similar to monitor employees extremely closely. In other words, employers may use the device to see which employee is working the hardest by his or her stress level. However frightening this may sound (especially to frequent Flash game player), Microsoft insists that the technology is only to be used as a way of providing assistance, and that as the patent is pending, they cannot comment any further.
