Another Drunk Driving Incident Brings Attention to Public Health Issue

    December 28, 2007

    By: Erin Moore for Body1

Unfortunately, drunk driving has become a commonplace occurrence, especially among high profile people and celebrities. Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, and Rebecca DeMornay are just some of the recent perpetrators, and female actresses are by no means the only group suffering. The latest is Meagan Harper, a young Oregon woman who was brought into the emergency room with a 0.55 blood alcohol level – about seven times the legal limit.

Drunk driving and high alcohol consumption are health hazards to not only the drinker, but to loved ones and those who come into contact with him or her. Keeping daily intake at or below one drink for women and two for men is the general recommendation.
